About the GWC
The Glendora Woman’s Club is an incorporated, tax exempt California Charitable Organization. We sponsor at least one major fundraiser each year. These fundraisers, along with donations to New Unto Others Thrift Shop and our clubhouse rentals, we support our community charities.
New Unto Others:
The Glendora Woman's Club is working with the New Unto Others Thrift Shop in Glendora, 175 N. Vermont Avenue, instead of holding the club's Annual Rummage Sale at the clubhouse. The change is in the way the club will be raising funds for its service projects and philanthropies. When making your donations, please be sure to mention the Glendora Woman's Club Bin Number 14
In the past, the Woman's Club has held its Rummage Sale once a year at the clubhouse. Now the new arrangement with the Thrift Shop provides residents with a more convenient, Year-Round way to donate no longer needed or unwanted items. Please be sure items are in good condition and suitable to sell.
Any questions, please call New Unto Others at (626) 914-1200
Main Club Meetings:
Our “Main Club” has a monthly meeting at 11 am on the first Tuesday of each month, September through June. We meet in our clubhouse at 424 N. Glendora Avenue. Following the monthly meeting is a catered luncheon and a program. In addition to our “Main Club” monthly meetings, we have three Departments which have various special interests that members can participate in. Each Department has its own officers, programs and charities.
Department Meetings:
GARDEN AND CRAFTS: This Department meets on the third Tuesday of the month in the clubhouse tea room for a luncheon and guest speaker. Garden and Craft members enjoy informative demonstrations and talks given by professionals on a wide variety of topics. On the their special charities is the Forest Service “Pennies for Pines” project.
MUSIC AND DRAMA: The ladies who belong to this Department have an interest in going to plays and musical programs They travel to local restaurants and take field trips. One of their favorite outings is “afternoon tea”. This Department gives scholarships to the Glendora High School seniors, usually to students focused in the arts.
POTPOURRI: The Potpourri Department has a special interest in art, literature and travel. On of their special projects is organizing the “Art Display” at the Main Club’s monthly meetings. Each month the “Art Display” features a different theme and club members participate by bringing items to display. The Department also features speakers and outings to various restaurants, museums and local points of interest. YWCA WINGS Shelter is their special charity.
