GLENDORA WOMAN'S CLUB TO PRESENT STORYTELLER BRONWYN SCHRAM

GLENDORA---The Glendora Woman's Club will hold its monthly luncheon-meeting on Tuesday, March 6, at the clubhouse, 424 N. Glendora Avenue in Glendora.


The Club day will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a social time, followed by the business meeting at 11 a.m., said Club President Chris Lear. Following will be the catered luncheon at noontime an the afternoon program featuring storyteller and entertainer Bronwyn Schramm.

For Ms. Schramm's program titled "Irish Tales," in celebration of St. Patrick's Day, she will share stories and tales about Ireland, said program vice president Helen Storland. Ms. Schramm has two degrees in the classics, has taught Latin, and has been a stage manager and a ballroom dancer, according to press information. Her programs of stories and songs reflect her great love for nostalgia, stories, and dogs that she shares with her audiences.

At each club meeting, a special display titled "Members Participation Art Display" will feature a different theme.  This month's display theme will be "Anything Green" in keeping with St. Patrick's Day and members are encouraged to share an item from home for the display, said committee member Joy Martau.


One of the club's ongoing service projects is Shepherd's Pantry located in Glendora. Each month at club meeting, members are asked to donate nonperishable food items for the Shepherd's Pantry project that serves those families in need in 10 area cities, said project chair Gloria Liddle.


Coming up on March 20 will be the club's Fashion Show and Luncheon, and annual event that provides funding for the club's philanthropies and service projects, said Fashion Show co-chairs Joy Martau and Carolyn Cunningham. This year's theme for the Fashion Show will be "Journey to Hawaii."  Fashions will be from Dressbarn and Undercovers, with the catered luncheon by Ritz Catering.


Available at the meeting will be a special t able featuring the sale of Fashion Show tickets at $40 per person, opportunity drawing tickets, and information flyers. For information about Fashion Show tickets, call 909-598-0554

Bronwyn Schramm, storyteller and entertainer, is presenting her program " Irish Tales" for the Glendora Woman's Club on Tuesday, March 6. Her visit marks a return engagement to the Woman's Club.
